Where I Left Her Behind
It was a regular yoga session – until my teacher paused, gently looked at me, and said, “Tap into your feminine energy more.” That landed like a soft truth I didn’t know I needed.
Not long before this, I visited the ancestral home that I was born in – the one I spent every summer as a child. It was the last place I truly remember being seen as the girl I was born – not a provider, not a planner, not a machine in motion.
Just a girl, adored, adorned, and allowed to be.
It’s as if I left her there and walked into a world that only measured how strong I could be, the burdens I could carry without faltering, and the needs I could suppress.
Embrace your inner goddess, for she is a force to be reckoned with, a beacon of beauty and wisdom.
Let her shine brightly, for her energy is the source of your true power.
The Cost of Disconnecting from Feminine Energy
I didn’t become this version of myself – I was thrust into a world where I had to transform into a woman in suits, hauling 30-kilogram bags through airports, managing lists and expectations, all while missing out on things that truly mattered. Years slipped by with little participation in festivities or family events, as life’s demands overshadowed my desires.
When those around me couldn’t rise to the occasion, I stepped up. I learned to survive by being strong and figuring things out in a foreign land. I adapted to the challenges, but in doing so, I lost touch with myself.
For years, I heard the same phrase: “You’re a one-woman army.”
While it was intended as a compliment, they didn’t see how hollow the praise felt. They never asked about the toll the strength had taken on me. I wasn’t fully seen as the woman in the room; instead, I was perceived merely as a resource – reliable & efficient.
Behind that strength, there was quiet exhaustion, I found myself increasingly distanced from the woman I truly am.
Feminine Energy isn’t Just An Aesthetic – It’s Essential
In a world that celebrates action, hustle, and productivity, we often overlook the power of simply being. Tapping into feminine energy is about achieving balance. It serves as a quiet force that nourishes, heals, and helps us reconnect with our bodies.
When a woman disconnects from her feminine energy, her body reacts. Cortisol levels rise, estrogen levels fall, and the entire hormonal rhythm that governs her physical and emotional health begins to spiral out of control.
In Indian culture, feminine energy is not just a concept; it is embodied in daily life. Items such as anklets, bangles, and sarees are more than mere ornaments— they serve as energetic tools when worn, awakening feminine energy and fostering overall well-being.
- Mehendi (henna) cools the body and grounds emotions.
- Anklets are believed to regulate energy flow through the feet, activating key pressure points.
- Sarees, with their graceful drapes, allow freedom of movement, expression, and elegance.
- Bangles, worn on pulse points, stimulate blood flow
Coming Back to Her
In becoming everything for everyone, she slowly drifted away from the woman she had been – not realizing when it happened. The anklets were tucked away into the back of the cupboard, the ethnic replaced by suits, and bangles never got to clink on wrists. The sensory grace of femininity gave way to structured routines and deadlines. And with that disconnection came exhaustion, hormonal imbalances, and a body that no longer felt like home.
“Coming Back to Her” is a journey of reclaiming – not just her adornments, but her true essence.
A return to the woman beneath the armor.
