Day 1 – Hyderabad → Somasila
Departure:
Left Hyderabad early around 6:30 AM. Playlist: a mix of nostalgia and feel-good beats.
Breakfast Stop:
Taaza Kitchen at Thukkuguda – light South Indian breakfast. Fresh, fast, and perfect.
En Route Temple Stop:
Maisigandi Maisamma Temple, Kadthal
Not planned, but worth the stop. Fierce guardian energy.
Check-in:
Riverside Resort in Somasila – simple and peaceful. Book lakefront rooms if possible (the balcony view is ). Glass doors open straight to the Krishna River. Mesmerising at dusk.
Boat Ride:
Arranged at the riverbank close to the resort, ensure to check timings at check-in. Golden hour, cool breeze, laughter—completely worth doing this in the evening.
Temples:
- Lalitha Someshwara Temple (Jyotirlinga) – Stillness. Sat in silence. You’ll feel it.
- Sangameshwara Temple – ask locals for the best time to spot it (typically summer).
Day 2 – Somasila → Singotam → Gadwal → Hyderabad
Temple Hopping:
- Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Singotam – Quiet. Peaceful. One of those places that grounds you.
- Singotam Ammavaru Temple (on the hill) – Beautiful scenic view from top, it’s worth it. Powerful feminine energy.
Shopping Stop:
Gadwal Saree Shopping
- Small shops, beautiful weaves. Don’t miss this! Ask around for trusted weavers for authentic buys. Allow enough time to hop shops that offer the best price.
Optional Detour:
Jogulamba Temple (Alampur)
- ~1.5 hours from Gadwal. One of the Shakti Peethas.
- Can be added if you leave early and don’t mind a slightly longer return.
Pro Tips
- Carry cash for smaller temple donations..
- Keep footwear that’s easy to remove.
- You don’t need a packed itinerary. Let the day flow.
- Carry light snacks for the road trip, such as dry fruit and trail mix.
- Carry individual water bottles from home that you can refill along the way.
